It is a great honor to welcome all of you to the 2^nd annual congress of Asian society of hip arthroscopy and preservation (ASHA). ASHA aims to promote the development of hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgery in Asia. In 2019, ASHA stepped into a new stage. ASHA's first annual meeting was held in Shanghai. Professor Deuk-Soo Hwang was the first president of ASAH，and professor Jiwu Chen was the organizing chairperson. Because of their efforts, ASHA's first annual meeting was a remarkable success. I thank them enormously for their contribution in developing and spreading hip arthroscopy and hip preservation techniques in Asia.

The 2^nd annual meeting of ASHA is being held in Kitakyushu, a vigorous international city. I believe under the arrangement of professor Soshi Uchida, the organizing chairperson, we will enjoy a wonderful meeting, by sharing the latest surgical techniques and experiences. Besides, we will also invite some world-class experts from ISHA (International society of hip arthroscopy) to share their latest opinions on the hip arthroscopy, open preservation surgery, and rehabilitation program.

This meeting will provide a great opportunity for doctors working on hip arthroscopy and hip preservation procedures in Asia. As the second president of the Asian society of hip arthroscopy and preservation, I wish the 2^nd ASHA Annual Meeting a great success. Professor Soshi Uchida will be the third president of the ASHA, and third annual meeting of ASHA will be held in South Korea.

It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to the 2^nd annual scientific meeting of Asian society of hip arthroscopy and preservation (ASHA) in Kitakyushu, which is the international, industrial city with nine hundred and fifty thousand people that boarders the northern region of Kyushu island.
Kitakyushu is located in south-west part of Japan, close to other Asian countries, Kitakyushu.

This signature event brings together more than 300 Orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapist, allied health personnel, residents, and fellows – world-class leaders in our specialty of hip arthroscopy, open preservation surgery, and rehabilitation.
This event of our society has belonged to ISHA (International society of hip arthroscopy) the hip preservation society. The arthroscope and the development of imaging (especially ultrasound and MRI) associated with anatomical, biomechanical and clinical research, made it possible to progress phenomenally rapidly in the discovery and management of unknown hip and periarticular pathologies.

We sincerely thank the international expert faculties form ISHA members who have given their time and supports in helping us to create a high class and ambitious program, covering many aspects of hip arthroscopy, open hip surgery, hip preservation and rehabilitation. A core part of our programme is themed based seminars, incorporating instructional course lectures, lunchtime workshop programme, scientific session, and poster presentation.

This is a precious chance to meet up with your colleagues and friend, to share knowledge and experiences and enjoy catching up in person during the annual meeting. We hope you enjoy your time in Kitakyushu, this is the best time to visit Japan for cherry blossom. We also hope you find time to extend your stay to visit UNESCO world heritage spots of sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial revolution and the sacred Island Okinoshima and Associated three shrines in the Munakata.
